On May 19, 2026, the Center for Digital Editing, the Papers of Martin Van Buren, and Museum Questions Consulting invited high school teachers and historians to come together and discuss the impact of bringing nineteenth-century documents into twenty-first-century classrooms. The webinar explored how the legacy of Martin Van Buren can help students better understand U.S. history, government, and civics. Participants heard testimonials from the historians who edit the freely accessible Martin Van Buren Papers, as well as teachers who spent the past year developing lesson plans based on these documents.
